      Quick Q...

      • How do maternity sizes work?

At Pea in a Pod our sizes correspond to your pre-pregnancy size.

It is normal to increase 1-2 cup sizes in the bust and ribs and to put on weight across the hip and thigh areas. However all our garments are specially designed to accommodate for this growth, so in most cases, you will remain your same pre-pregnancy size.

We have listed on each product page the measurements for a size AU 10, plus, the measurements of the fabric stretched around specific areas (tummy, bust) so you can be sure that the garment will fit right up until go-time!

Usually, grading is marked 2.5cm up or down a size, so use the size 10 measurements as a guide.

If garments have only a little stretch, we will list our recommendation of sizing for you.

If you don't like size charts (who does!), email us the style you are thinking about, and we can personally recommend a size for you. Find out more HERE

      • Can I wear it after baby is born?

Yes! We pride ourselves in designing and crafting all garments to be suitable to wear during all three trimesters of pregnancy and well after baby is born thanks to superior stretch fabrications, a range of technical finishes and clever design elements.

If you still have question regarding this product, please do not hesitate to call us on +61 (03) 9415 6800 anytime between 10am - 4pm or email info@peainapod.com.au

      • Are the models actually pregnant?

We aim to photograph each collection on a model who is expecting.

Most times we can, but if it is not possible like our AW2020 Collection we state in our product descriptions that she is wearing a prosthetic belly, so we are as transparent as possible.

You may notice that we use the same model for our SS2021 Collection, and happy to say that she was pregnant with her second baby at the time of the shoot :)

PS - We do not retouch our models, including bumps and skin! We only adjust the garment colour, so it is as close of possible to the real thing and also the background colour for consistency.

        #IRL
As each body is unique, that goes for pregnant bodies too! Two people can try on the same outfit but may look different depending on their body shape and how they are carrying their baby.

You can head to our instagram to see IRL #PIAPMAMAS wearing our garments.
Our garments are created to fit a "true" size 10 (industry standard) and then graded down (6-8) and up (12-16) for bulk production.

We do offer simple exchange/refunds if you are not 100% happy, please get in contact if you have any questions about any of the fits.

      • What does the * mean in some product names?

We aim to be as transparent as possible, so an * in a product name is to simply indicate when you are browsing a collection page, which styles are not made in Australia. This helps consumers make an informed decision from the start.

This is a rare occurrence, but sometimes unavoidable due to manufacturing limitations in Australia.

NOTE: Due to a shortage of Australian knitters, our AW2020 collection has one style that was made offshore. The Kaelyn Nursing Knit - as noted down on the product page.

As we also stock Ambra Maternity Tights, Love Luna Briefs and Triumph Bras, these are also made offshore.
